Dear Ruskoka Work Weekend Volunteers,

Brrrrrr! Our final work weekend reminded us that winter is just around the corner. Despite the snowfall this past Saturday, three brave volunteers went for a swim, and several long walks in the winter wonderland. And we were happy to be visited by Andrei Pregl from Wisconsin! Everyone worked to prepare the camp for the winter. Thank you to Dima, Nika, Victor, Galina, Larisa, Bogdan, Daniel, Ksenia, Maksim, Alik, Andrei and Victor.

 

Ruskoka now has a new wood chipper and wood splitter. We bought, delivered, assembled and tested a large commercial wood chipper and a hydraulic wood splitter.

 

 

 

We also: delivered and installed the remaining 5 camp bathroom mirrors, delivered two donated mountain bikes, removed and charged all tractor and ATV batteries, removed broken parts from ATVs for repair, cleaned up 8 donated white tables, painted the office floor and cleaned up the office, cleaned up the entire garage, winterized the house plumbing, winterized all pumps and generators, stored all the blankets, cleaned the house from top to bottom, cleaned out the fridges and freezers, and prepared the camp and the house for a cold upcoming winter.

We also prepared delicious meals, and celebrated the end of a successful summer season. Thank you to all work weekend volunteers who worked hard before, during, and after camp to makes sure the camp was ready for the kids! Spasibo!
