Get Involved

One of the main things that sets Ruskoka apart from other summer camps is that it is run solely by volunteers. Ruskoka Camp is a registered Canadian charitable organization that is completely non-profit.  Established in 2000, Ruskoka Camp has been financially sustained by generous donations from members of our community, as well as programs such as the Fresh Air Fund. The property itself was donated from the estate of Alexei Kosachev. With the hard work and collaboration of camp supporters, we were able to construct our St. Alexis Chapel in 2005, as well as improve our camp facilities throughout the years. Thanks to our many volunteers, we are able to keep this camp alive and running each summer for the benefit of children, some of whom are underprivileged, within our Russian Orthodox community.

We graciously welcome and encourage the help of new volunteers, and gratefully accept all forms of donations. We depend on assistance both during and outside of camp. Throughout both sessions, we require assistance in the kitchen, as well as around camp itself. Outside of camp, we host work weekends and annual fundraising events such as the Winter Palace Ball.
