Dear Ruskoka Camp Volunteers,
Thank you to the 18 volunteers that came last work weekend: Nika, Natasha, Kira, Victor, Max, Oles, Sergei, Roma, Egor, Petya, Zak, Marina, Vlad, Alexey, Volodya, Dennis, Victor and Alik. This was another mega work weekend. The next work weekends will be in the fall, starting September 12, 2009.
Some of the many jobs we got done:
– cut grass everywhere, again !
– cleaned up after basement renovations
– finished staining the windows
– prepared for the banquet
– organized and set up the office area, set up the bookshelves
– cleaned up the entire chapel
– installed the UV filters
– cleaned and set up the camp kitchen for summer use
– cleaned the pavilion, again
– cleaned up the girl’s camp
– cut trees all weekend, cleaned up branches
– fixed the pump in the house basement
– cleaned up the new camp bathroom from all the construction debris. (Mega job at midnight! )
– started building a small climbing/traversing wall
– finished bathroom plumbing and installed last toilet
– finished electrical work for final inspection
– cooked incredible, delicious food for all the volunteers, cleaned dishes, cleaned the house…
Next weekend is the St. Alexis Family Weekend. If you haven’t already made plans to come to Ruskoka, join us this weekend! There are still 4 spots left on the bus for Sunday (call Victor at 416 487 2993). Participate in the celebration! The schedule looks something like this:
