Thank You and Come to Ruskoka for Workweekend #7 on September 8 and 9, 2012 – In only 2 weeks!

Dear Ruskoka Camp Volunteers and Counselors,

Wow! A large group of volunteers (24 actually) accomplished a lot, including counselors participating in two talks on camp leadership. And, we all celebrated namesdays for the Natalia’s, and a birthday! Everyone enjoyed the great company, delicious meals and fresh air that have become synonymous with Ruskoka! Thank you to Nika, Victor, Kira, Misha, Tanya, Dmitriy, Svetlana, Luba, Andrei, Natasha, Alik, Marina, Victor, Polina, Katya, Larisa, Victor, Sasha, Daniel, Natasha, Andrei, Vika, and Victor.

Despite the rain on Saturday, we cleaned up and burned piles of brush saved up over the summer, packed and put away all of the camp tents, reinforced the lumber shelf in the garage, cleaned up and organized all of the lumber pile in the garage, cut up dead trees, fixed a house door, installed trim around all of the windows and doors in the new pantry, made a new ATV toolbox, painted the front door of the camp house, sorted and labeled all camp keys, cleaned up the camp kitchen and prepared for the winter, organized the entire camp library and sorted all of the books, cleaned up the chapel, organized the remaining camp T-shirt inventory, checked and sorted parts bicycles, worked on new ATV 3 wheeler, fixed tires on ATV, delivered 4 large steel shelve units, excavated septic covers for pumpout, cleaned the camp office, cleaned the house, did laundry, and spectacularly delicious meals. We also held two camp leadership talks, on Saturday and Sunday. Again, we completed tons of work and had a wonderful time together. Don’t miss this great opportunity, come to Ruskoka in two weeks!

For the next work weekend, lots of new projects, and some of the left-over tasks: cut grass everywhere, paint the camp house stairwell, finish organizing the camp library, organize the yellow trailer, paint the lifeguard boat, paint the pantry outside wall, paint the pantry interior door, fix lawnmowers, clean up brush and stack logs, re-cover the septic covers, organize the garage tools and work area, remove scrap steel, have a leadership discussion, and prepare scrumptious meals. We are anticipating an Indian Summer (ie. last of the warm weather), so bring your bathing suits for one last dip in the river.

See you at Ruskoka on September 29th, 2012! Only two weeks away.

Alik
